Omron HEM-650 Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor with A.P.S.
Box Includes: HEM-650, storage case, 2 AAA batteries, illustrated instruction manual

The HEM-650 Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor with A.P.S. is the leading brand of heart monitors, recommended by more pharmacists and doctors. The InteliSense and SigmaCuff technology gives more accurate and more comfortable readings. Its advanced positioning sensor automatically confirms the Monitor is at heart level. Simple, silent one-touch operation makes it ideal for use. It’s also compact enough to be used anywhere. Durable pre-formed wrist cuff; fits 5-1/4 to 8-1/2 in circumference Unit Dimensions(WxHxD) – 2-3/4 x 2-1/8 x 1-7/16 (without wrist cuff) Unit Weight – 110g (without batteries)

HEM-650

High quality product. Well engineered. “User friendly” – everything you need in a portable unit. The A.P.S. feature is a nice feature – it may not sound like much, but it works like a charm! Count me as a very satisfied customer. (Not sure what the criticism was about fat people not being able to use it. I was 40 pounds over my ideal weight and the Omron HEM-650 worked just fine. I’ve since lost 20 pounds and the unit has continued to perform well.)

Doesnt work if you are overweight

This blood pressure monitor only works if you are a thin or average person. For someone who needs to monitor their blood pressure who is even slightly over weight it will not work. Strongly advise those who are NOT TO BUY THIS PRODUCT.

Reads too high.

Exchanging for third unit. Previous units read 15 points too high compared to Dr’s and drug store readings. Very sensitive to position relative to heart. All other features as advertised.

Very sensitive device

Unfortunately, this monitor is very sensitive. You have to be very careful of position of your hand and monitor when measuring. If you change it just a little higher or lower than instructed the results become quite different.

Do You Really Want to Know Your Blood Pressure?

I’ve always monitored my blood pressure using those sit down stations you find in drug store, at work, and other locations. I was interested in knowing how my pressure varied in different situations. There are a lot of options – cuff-type, wrist watch-style, and various travel options. I opted for the Omron HEM-670IT model. It can be used on your wrist – easier than putting on an arm band cuff. It’s self-inflating, and best of all, it comes with software and automatic data download to your computer. It’s a relatively small device and comes with a hard plastic travel case. It comes with a USB download cable and the required batteries. I’ve been using it for several months now and couldn’t be happier. It’s easy to use and tells you when you have it in the correct location to get an accurate reading. Downloading the data is a piece of cake. Loading the software on your computer is also easy. Best of all, the software also works with the Omron pedometers (I also ordered one of those after the good results I’ve had with the blood pressure monitor). Is it perfect? Hard to say. I’ve used it while measuring my blood pressure with other devices – it provides similar results. If you’re looking for absolute trends you’d probably need to compare with a professional reading – I have not done that yet. But it does seem to be within plus or minus a could of points — good enough to see if you pressure is changing and identify trends.

Omron HEM-650 Deluxe Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor with A.P.S., IntelliSense and Irregular Heartbeat Detector
Wrist blood pressure monitors are portable, accurate and simple to use. They provide a convenient choice for those who want a second unit for away from home or who have trouble placing a cuff on their arm. The Omron HEM-650 Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor with APS (Advanced Positioning Sensor) uses Omron’s patented IntelliSense technology, which inflates the wrist cuff to the ideal level with each use and offers fast, personalized, and automatic inflation for maximum comfort. No adjustments are required to select an inflation level–especially convenient for hypertensive users and for people with certain arrhythmia or heart disorders, because their blood pressure is more likely to fluctuate. And with the HEM-650’s 90-memory recall with date and time stamp, as well as averaging capabilities for the last three readings, you can track your blood pressure and pulse progress as your work towards a healthier lifestyle. The HEM-650 also features a system that detects an irregular heartbeat, giving you an even better understanding of your heart’s health. Plus, you’ll have additional peace of mind knowing that the HEM-650 comes with a 5-year warranty.
Because the HEM-650 has a wrist cuff, it is particularly helpful if you have a larger than average sized arm. The monitor fits those with a wrist size of 5.25 to 8.5 inches, and it ensures easier and more comfortable use. Note, however, that a wrist monitor does require proper positioning of the device at the heart level. Correct cuff positioning is critical when monitoring blood pressure, fortunately, the HEM-650 features an advanced positioning sensor that automatically confirms that the cuff is level with the user’s heart, thereby ensuring an accurate reading.

It is critical that when using a blood pressure monitor the cuff is the appropriate size and is properly applied. An ill-fitting cuff or an incorrectly-applied cuff can result in inaccurate readings.

Omron Hem-650 BP Monitor

Very easy to use! Accurate! It’s worth the money. I always bought the old type, manual BP cuffs. This one is much easier to use and you don’t have to worry about getting it caliberated every few months!

Panasonic EW3006S Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor
The Panasonic EW3006S Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor lets you measure your blood pressure whenever and wherever you wish. It’s ideal for anyone who wants or needs to keep careful track of their blood pressure over a period of time. You can trust Panasonic Wellness products to help you monitor your physical health in the comfort of your own home. Their range of blood pressure monitors are among the most popular on the market because they’re reliable, easy-to-use, and accurate.

Easy to Use
Just wrap the cuff around your wrist, and with just one touch of the On/Off Start button, the monitor auto inflates for quick, easy measurements. An automatic memory feature allows you to capture 90 readings and save them to track the readings over time.

The large LCD panel shows both blood pressure readings and pulse rate simultaneously. The Panasonic EW3006S Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor runs on two AA Alkaline batteries which are included.

How it Works
The DFT (Digital Filter Technology) uses a sensor to detect and isolate only the essential pulse oscillation, which helps eliminate other noise factors and leads to quick and reliable measurements. This also helps avoid over-tightening of the cuff. The monitor lights up if you are moving during a reading, alerting you to the fact that your reading will not proceed unless you stop moving. The automatic memory feature allows you to capture save readings for two different individuals, making it easy to keep track of your results.

Customer Review: simple to use and very accurate

it has all the basic features you need to monitor blood pressure, simple and accurate.

Customer Review: Trusted name

This was my second time to purchase Panasonic Blood Pressure Monitor products. Both were gifts to my parents. They specifically told me to get Panasonic because of its accuracy/near-accuracy.

This was the highest end HoMedics product. It is easy to use and see and appears to be both precise and accurate. I am pleased with the product, pricing, and shipment.

Healthful aid and easy to use.

My wife and I both use it. We are very pleased with the results it gives us in so little time. Very easy to use and can help us determine how we are doing day to day. It can warn us if there’s a problem, and we can get in touch with our health care provider if we have to. It’s compact enough that we can take it along on our vacations.

Prevention WS-820PV Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor
Very accurate. We checked it against our family doctors office readings and we trust it completely. Well made and easy to use.

Very quick & simple

This is great for fast & simple monitoring of your blood pressure & pulse. It takes about 1 minute to give you blood pressure & pulse, and it tells you if it detects an irregular pulse (such as PVC). There’s no fuss, and no stethoscope, nor hand pump, nor any of that old school stuff. The formed wrist band has a velcro strap which fastens & unfastens quickly & easily, and everything is done at the push of a button. You can do it easily all by yourself.

Note: if, for some reason, you really need super-accurate readings, then you have to be careful to have your wrist always at the same level (relative to your heart) every time you take a reading, because you can get different readings if your wrist is higher or lower than your heart; but that is true with any device. I just try to have my arm be “about” the same place (relative to the heart), so I get pretty consistent readings, and at least I know the general range. I don’t care about a difference between, say, 117/69 and 119/72 — I just want to know if I’m unusually high or low, and this is plenty accurate for that.

This device has 2 30-entry memories (to keep track for 2 different people, or to keep track of morning & evening, or something like that), but I don’t even use them because I just want to know where I am at the given time. If you are interested, it will display an average of the readings in each memory, and you can look back through the last 30 individual readings in each memory.

The one negative point is that it needs ALKALINE batteries, not nickle metal hydride (apparently because the electric field from the hydride batteries would interfere with the electronics the device uses to detect pulses). It needs 2 AAA batteries, and so far one set of batteries has lasted me 100 readings or so.

This monitor constantly records a 30 to 40 percent higher blood pressure than the arm monitors. I checked with a doctor and I was informed that wrist BP is NOT higher than arm BP. So, I stopped using this product.
